You need to download and install the GIS software QGIS in order to run GeoDataFarm, go to www.qgis.org and pick Download Now.
Note: Since the release of GeoDataFarm2.0 and QGIS3 you should be able to choose between the latest release or the network installer. It is however recommend to take the network installer (either 32 or 64 bits). If you went for the network release, you will only download a minor installation file which you will use to specify what you want to download and install. It is recommend to choose “Express Desktop installation” –> then the three selected packages (QGIS GDAL and GRASS GIS) –> accept the Agreements and then install QGIS. If you want to have more control of the installation I recommend the advanced installation, just remember to install the latest QGIS Desktop.
2. Launch the program
When the QGIS is installed it is time to launch it.
(3. Change language in QGIS)
QGIS uses the computer system by default, to follow the tutorial you might want to change it like this.
In Swedish it is located under “Inställningar/Alternativ”
Choose Location (“under Allmänt”)
Force the system location and choose U.S. English in the menu, to see the changes you need to restart the program.
4. Install GeoDataFarm plugin
The GeoDataFarm plugin has been submitted as an official QGIS plugin and is available in the plugin manager, just search for GeoDataFarm among All and press install.
