If you have GPS connected to your tractor/ the machine can log data with GPS coordinates, you can import these to the program and make some insighting discoveries! Before you starts to add any data, please ensure that you have added a least one field and one crop.
Then to add data go to the second tab of the main GeoDataFarm window (Import data).
Here are 10 different sub tabs with different types of data (Planting, Fertilizing, Spraying etc.) that you can add to your farm. In this guide I will show how to add some GPS planting data from a text file, adding other data is similar. (Data without geographical location could be added for report purposed by filling in the right part of window, but this can’t be analysed).
At the moment it is possible to add text data (.txt/.csv files), shapefiles and raster files. When you selected Text file and press Open the file and save it you get this dialog.
This is short summary of what the different fields/buttons do:
When the data is loaded, multiple layers (one for each row in the left table) will be added to the QGIS canvas. On the left side of the screen there is a list of the layer names, the layer on top will be the layer on top of the others in the canvas. if you press the down arrow: next to the layer name you’ll get a legend of what the colors indicates. If you “untick” the checkbox the layer disappears.
